NPORS EXPERIENCED WORKER TEST EXCAVATOR 360 ABOVE 10T (N202) COURSE
If you are an experienced operator but don’t hold a formal NPORS qualification, the Experienced Worker Test (EWT) – Excavator 360 Above 10T (N202) allows you to demonstrate your skills and gain your NPORS Operator Card quickly. This assessment is tailored for operators who already have practical experience with 360-degree excavators and want nationally recognised certification for site access.
About The Excavator 360
The 360-degree excavator is a highly versatile machine used for:
Digging and trenching on large and confined sites
Bulk excavation and loading operations
Landscaping and site preparation
Working with attachments like breakers, grapples, and buckets
Operators must demonstrate full 360-degree control, correct attachment use, and strict adherence to site safety procedures.
Who Is This For?
The Experienced Worker Test is ideal if you:
Have prior experience operating a 360-degree excavator
Work in construction, civil engineering, or utilities
Need a recognised NPORS operator card for site access
Want to upgrade from in-house or expired qualifications
⚠️ This route is not suitable for beginners. Novice training is required if you have little or no experience.
What Will Be Assessed?
During the NPORS Excavator 360 EWT, you will demonstrate:
Safe pre-use and post-use inspections
Correct use of controls and safety devices
Efficient start-up and shut-down procedures
Digging, trenching, and loading operations
Awareness of underground services and site hazards
Parking, securing, and safe operational practices
Assessment is carried out by NPORS-accredited instructors following national standards.

The NPORS N202 course covers the safe use of 360 excavators, both above and below 10 tonnes, including tracked and wheeled types. It includes both theory and practical training, leading to an NPORS Operator Card upon successful completion.
Below 10 tonnes: Compact machines often used in housing, landscaping and utilities
Above 10 tonnes: Larger machines for construction, earthworks and heavy-duty digging.
We can certify operators in either category or both depending on the machine used during training.
No, we offer courses for Novice, Experienced and refresher candidates. We'll help place you in the right course based on your background.
Yes - if you want the NPORS-CSCS Card, you must pass the CITB operatives HS+E Test within 2 years of training.
If you don't need a CSCS logo, this test is not required.
