Confirms occupational competence in constructing and forming operations as carried out in your day-to-day work. Assessment is built around the plant you already operate, with your assessor gathering evidence on site rather than in a classroom.
Suitability and Requirements
You must be employed or working in a role where the relevant activity is carried out, so evidence can be gathered on live work.
Experience in the role is assumed; there is no classroom entry test for the qualification itself.
You must have passed the correct CITB Health, Safety and Environment test within the last two years to apply for the card.
Assessment and Evidence
Workplace observations by your assessor, professional discussion, witness testimony and a portfolio of work products. Your assessor plans visits around live work and supports you between them remotely.

Typically 3–9 months depending on evidence availability and access to work. Assessment takes place in your real workplace across Norfolk, Suffolk and the wider East of England, with remote portfolio support.

CITB grant funding
Levy-paying construction employers may be able to claim CITB grant support towards this NVQ. Grant is claimed by the employer after registration; it is not a discount deducted at checkout, and the amount you pay Haswell Training is unaffected by whether a claim is later made.
