Use your on-site experience to gain a recognised qualification
If you already operate plant machinery on site, an NVQ is a straightforward way to have that experience properly recognised.
At Haswell Training, we work with experienced operators completing NOCN Level 2 NVQs in Plant Operations (Construction) across a range of plant roles.
These qualifications may also help operators move towards the relevant CSCS Blue Skilled Worker Card, depending on the occupation and the current CSCS requirements.
The assessment is based on the work you carry out in your normal role, so there is no need to step away from site for long classroom sessions.
NVQ Certificate Vs. Diploma
Both are Level 2 qualifications, but a Certificate covers a more specific area of competence, while a Diploma covers a broader range of skills. The right option depends on the plant and work you carry out. Both can support a CSCS Blue Skilled Worker Card where the qualification is accepted for the relevant occupation.
NOCN Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Plant Operations (Construction)

Constructing and Forming-For operators using plant as part of constructing and forming work.

Transporting Loads-For operators who move or transport loads using construction plant.

Why complete a Plant Operations NVQ?
A Plant Operations NVQ shows that you can do the job to the required standard, based on real work carried out on site.
It can help you:
gain a nationally recognised qualification
use your existing site experience as evidence
take the next step in your plant operations career
work towards the relevant CSCS Blue Skilled Worker Card
show employers and clients that you are competent in your role
complete the qualification while continuing to work
Your assessor will explain what evidence is needed, review your work and assess your competence against the relevant occupational standards.
Which plant NVQ is right for you?
The best route depends on the plant you operate and the work you do on site.
If you are not sure which pathway fits your role, Haswell Training can talk through your experience and help point you in the right direction.
